This game gives you a bit of football athlete power but is condensed into cartoonishly proportioned bodies. If you're looking for a serious football game, then this isn't the one you want and that's fine. It's meant to be an enjoyable little experience to play for a short break or have a fun little competition with a friend. Even if you don't know anything about football, you'll be able to play this one without any problems.
How to Play
Football Masters is a 2D competitive football game about small, short matches that you can play using the keyboard.
Player One Controls
- W - Jump
- S - Slide
- A - Move Left
- D - Move Right
- L - Kick
- K - Supershot
Player Two Controls
- Up Arrow - Jump
- Down Arrow - Slide
- Left Arrow - Move Left
- Right Arrow - Move Right
- X - Kick
- Z - Supershot
The goal of the game is to score more points than your opponent. The timer will be shown at the top and will count up to 90. The scores will be shown at the bottom of the screen while the supershot icons in the opposite bottom corners of the screen. When the timer reaches 90, the player with the highest score will be the winner. In the event of a tie, the game will go into overtime to find a winner. You can play solo, against another player, or a quick match with randomly picked players.
After you choose how many players, you'll be taken to the player select screen. You'll have a variety of players to choose from, each from different teams. They all have different appearances and will also have differing supershots to consider. When the match begins, you'll see that the field is restricted to a single screen and the goals will be elevated from the ground. The ball will be dropped in and you can start bumping and kicking it on contact. The slide move can be used to stun and try to steal the ball.
Tips and Tricks
This is a fast-paced football game with platforming mechanics but without platforms. You may be tempted to clash with your opponent for the ball, but this can easily backfire. If your opponent reaches it first, it's better to play defensively so that you can receive and regain control.
